Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.

Another Christmas Gift today - the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. I've owned the Naked Basics 2 palette for a while now, but still felt that I wanted to try the original, so I'm so glad I got this for Christmas. Even though I've been experimenting with silver and grey shades recently, neutrals are still very much my thing, and you can never have enough eyeshadow palettes right?

The palette has 6 shades - 1 shimmer and 5 matte. I'm wearing venus, wos, naked2 and faint in the photo above, along with my Gosh extreme liquid liner in bronze (from the press tent blogger review box), Charlotte Tilbury black liner (on tightline), essence bronze liner (on waterline), makeup forever mascara, and clinique bottom lash mascara. My lipstick is from Kiko, and the base routine is the same as last sunday's Silver Sparkle GRWM video.

All of the shades are really pigmented, blend easily and work together really well, just as you'd expect from Urban Decay - their eyeshadows are definitely one of the best on the market.

The Naked Basics palette is perfect for everyday looks, and because it's so small, it'd be good for travelling too. I also find the basics palettes really useful for mixing with other eyeshadows and palettes that I have.

Made by Millie Mackintosh

Made by Millie Mackintosh was one of my Christmas presents this year (What I got for Christmas video will be up on Thursday) and I've already read most of it!

I've been a fan of Millie Mackintosh for a very long time, and have followed her from Made in Chelsea to her blog and was so excited when she released her book. I decided to put it on my Christmas wishlist, as I love getting books for Christmas.

It takes the usual format of blogger/celebrity books and includes sections on Millie's life, style, beauty, food, travelling and fitness. What's different about this book, and what I really love, is that it's not a list of rules or instructions on how to do things that are pretty simple anyway. It's all written from Millie's perspective and is about the things she does, how she does them, and how they work for her.

I found the book really interesting, and I know it's something I'll refer back to, particularly for the recipes, fitness exercises, and beauty tips. Unlike many other similar books I've read, Millie's book has taught me the most new things, and also includes some of Millie's favourite places to go for beauty treatments, shopping and food.

Made is quite an inspiring book, and if you're looking to improve your fitness, change your style, eat healthier or improve your beauty routine, this book is a very good place to start. Particularly if you're making new years resolutions - I'd have a read of this book!

GRWM | Silver Sparkle

Click here to watch the video on my YouTube channel

Here is yesterday's GRWM video. It's inspired by my new silver hair, and uses some silver toned shadows from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, along with one of my favourite lipsticks, and my current favourite base routine! I hope you enjoy the video and that you're all having a lovely festive season! x

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

I finally caved and bought the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette. I already own 2 of the Naked palettes and the basics palette, but never tended to use the darker shades, so I didn't buy the smoky palette straight away as I didn't think I'd use it. Since I've changed my hair to grey, I've been trying out some more silver toned eyeshadows and have strayed slightly from my neutrals recently, so I thought I'd treat myself to the Naked Smoky palette.

I've been using it for a good few days now, and have already tried out most of the shades. I've really been enjoying the silvery blue shades, as well as my good old favourite neutrals (in the photo above I've used thirteen, combust, high, dirtysweet and radar) as well as my GOSH xtreme liquid eyeliner in bronze, which I got in my Press Tent Blogger Review box - and I really love it!

I think I overlooked this palette to be honest as it's such a beauty! The four shades on the right are all matte - perfect for everyday - I love using combust as a base shade. This palette literally has everything you'd need for a daytime or more intense look and has options for both cool and warm tones.

As always, the quality of shadows is amazing from Urban Decay, and I much prefer this packaging to any of the previous ones - I think it's so much nicer and more luxurious! The palette also comes with a dual ended eyeshadow brush (a blending end and a pencil brush end) which is really useful, and makes the palette great value. There were also some ideas/instructions included too.

I'm really loving this palette and can't believe I didn't buy it sooner! If you're looking for something to spend your Christmas money on, or the perfect eyeshadow palette for a NYE look, or just to treat yourself, I'd highly recommend the Naked Smoky!

Shoe Haul | JustFab UK & UNIF

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! Today's video is a shoe haul/unboxing. I planned to post this last week, but the shoes didn't arrive as quickly as I thought so it's a rather unfestive Christmas Eve video! Hope you're all having a lovely time!

Christmas Mess & Peanut Hottie

A rather delicious and festive post today! I got both of these food goodies in my Blogger Review box from The Press Tent event back in November, and finally got around to trying them out this week!

Peanut Hottie is a hot drink which works like a hot chocolate (powder that you add hot water to) and tastes absolutely delicious! I was worried it might taste a little strange or not very sweet but I really like it. It's somewhere between a hot chocolate and a nutty latte - and if you're a fan of peanut butter you'll definitely like this! It's only 83 calories per serving too!

These Hotel Chocolat Christmas Mess chocolates are also delicious (apologies if this post is making you hungry!). They're an eton mess flavoured chocolate with added cinnamon and spices, and are topped with cranberry and meringue pieces. If you're a fan of very sweet, cinnamon chocolates or eton mess then I'd definitely recommend trying these! Hotel Chocolat's christmas range is amazing too - they've got so many different chocolates and gift options. My christmas mess chocolates didn't last very long!

I hope you're all having a lovely Christmas - and if not, why not treat yourself to some hotel chocolat chocolates and a peanut hottie and watch a film or browse the sales online! x

*Both products were gifted to me via The Press Tent. Not a sponsored post.

New Bed.

I don't normally post about home-related things, but I thought I'd share my new bed and bedding. I had a bit of a drama last week - I'd ordered a new bed from Argos on Black Friday, and to cut a long story short, it never arrived resulting in a week sleeping on the floor as my old bed had already been got rid of. I got my new bed from a local company who delivered it the next day in the end. Moral of the story - never order anything from Argos!

My bedding is from Primark and is a brushed cotton fabric so is really soft and cosy. I chose this neutral gray winter print bedding and it was £18 for the set. The star cushion is also from Primark and was £5 and is a lovely faux leather and memory foam cushion. The fleecy star throw is from George at ASDA and was £6. My sheets and pillows were from Dunelm as it's hard to find sheets to fit my bed (its a small double/120cm) - but Dunelm have practically every colour of them.

Anyway - I hope some of you found this interesting/useful!

UNIF Winter Lookbook

A lookbook featuring my recent Black Friday sale purchases from UNIF. It's not sponsored - I'm just really loving UNIF's winter collection! I hope you enjoy it - It took a full day of filming in the rain!! It also features some new shoes from JustFab UK and some Topshop favourites! x

Have a Fetch Christmas

I love this Fetch Christmas Sweatshirt by Dom 'n' Ink for Rock on Ruby - it's inspired by mean girls and is just a bit different to all the other christmas jumpers there are. It's not as novelty but is still festive and fashionable - and I've had loads of compliments on it!

I paired it with my joni jeans and over the knee boots from River Island. These boots are such an easy way to dress up a basic outfit and are really warm and comfortable.

Have a Fetch Christmas!

December Birchbag

I'm so happy that Birchbox have brought out another Birchbag this month. Back in July the products came in a clear plastic makeup bag (that I still use in my work bag) and I much preferred it to the usual box. December's products came in this gorgeous green velvet, faux leather a gold glitter clutch bag, which is perfect for Christmas parties. The bag just adds so much more value to the subscription price (£12.95 including P&P)

The products this month are really good too! A full size lipstick from Model Co in a Christmas red shade (stiletto), two mini benefit samples (they're real liner and puffoff), a mini Ciate nail polish (iced frappe), an Elemis day cream, Roloxin face mask and a Skin&Co shower gel.

There's not a single product in this month's bag that I won't use! I'm so happy to see luxury brands like Elemis, Ciate and Benefit in my box too! All the products are good sizes (lipstick is full size) so will last me well over the festive period.

I'm super pleased with my Birchbag this month. I'd definitely recommend subscribing if you like the idea of trying new products each month. As with all subscriptions, some months are better than others, but I always like most of the products I get.

Birchbox subscription would be a great Christmas Gift for a beauty lover, and they also have a home box, mens box, caudalie box  and selfridges box available!

I definitely think Birchbox has been really good this year, and I'm excited to see what comes in my 2016 boxes!

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Lipstick Charms

How adorable are these mini lipsticks? These mini lipstick charms are one of the Charlotte Tilbury Christmas gift sets this year, and were an early Christmas present from my mum.

They're very mini, and quite a lot smaller than I expected, but are the perfect size for in a clutch bag or for trying out the different colours.

All three lipsticks are from the KISSING range (non-matte) and are in the shades Penelope pink, Bitch perfect and So Marilyn. (two pinks and one red) All the shades are very wearable, and although I'm more of a nude lipstick person, the red is a very Christmassy shade and is a lovely colour. I already own the full size of Penelope Pink which is one of my most used lipsticks, and Bitch perfect is a slightly deeper pink that I really like.

I think these lipstick charms are a lovely little gift/ stocking filler as it's a great way to try out the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks before committing to a full size. They are quite expensive (£29) but as usual with Charlotte Tilbury, they're very high quality, and the packaging is beautiful.

The lipstick charms also come with a ribbon attached, so you could hang them on the tree if you wanted to!

Monaco

Rag & Bone monaco jacket
Alexander McQueen sweatshirt
Primark hat

This jacket and sweatshirt are both past season, but I still love wearing them. This jacket is such a statement piece and I hadn't worn it in a while so thought I'd get it out again!

Today's video is a Tom Ford Lipstick lookbook. I absolutely love Tom Ford lipsticks, and in this video I swatch my collection of 4 lipsticks - two from the regular range, and two from the matte range. I hope you enjoy the video! x

Sweater Weather

See by Chloe coat

This is one of my sweaters I got from The Press Tent event last week from Rock on Ruby. It definitely is sweater weather - it's freezing! I got mine in Navy with white writing but you can get any combination on their website. I paired it with my staple joni jeans, and my Atelje trainers for a pop of colour, then added my oversized See by Chloe coat for extra warmth!

Frosty

UNIF Frost Sweater
Topshop hat  (mine is from last year - new version linked)

A pretty standard OOTD - Unif jumper (so obsessed with unif right now!), Topshop joni jeans (yes, I do have multiple pairs!), Topshop hat (from last year but they still have similar ones) and my Vagabond boots which I got last year and have worn so much as they're so comfortable. And I did wear a coat when I went out!

The Press Tent Event 30/11/15

Last Monday I attended #thepresstentevent which was a lovely event held by The Press Tent in Manchester's Northern Quarter at Yard & Coop (a really nice fox-themed restaurant). I really enjoyed the event and had a great time catching up with blogger friends and meeting new ones!
There were lots of little brand stalls including Rock on RubyArtsynibsNickyrocketsLiquor 43, Depop, What Emma Did boutique and Jennifique beauty. Dom and Ink was also there, and he drew me another lovely illustration, and he also has a new collection with Rock on Ruby which is amazing so go and check it out! I picked up a few bits which will be appearing in videos and on the blog soon!
I also had my nails done in purple glitter shellac by Jennifique Beauty at the event and I absolutely love them! I also got a quote written in Calligraphy by artsynibs, and lots of free nibbles and sweets!
I had a great time at the event and it was great to see loads of brands that are usually online-only. Most of the brands were run by fellow bloggers too!
If you're a fellow blogger, I'd highly recommend signing up to The Press Tent as the event was really good, and the organisers were so lovely and helpful! They also gave me a code for a free UBER ride which was a great taxi service - I'd highly recommend them!
I also came away with a Blogger's review box, which I'll be unboxing on my Youtube channel tomorrow, although you can see a sneak peek in the picture above!
Big Thanks to The Press Tent for inviting me to the event!!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

I've been using the Charlotte Tilbury magic foundation now for around a month, so today I'm sharing my thoughts on it. I use the shade 2, and set it with the Charlotte Tilbury powder in shade 1. As with all Charlotte Tilbury products, the packaging is beautiful, and the products are very high quality.

The foundation is a medium to full coverage depending on how much you use, and gives an even coverage without looking heavy. It covers blemishes, redness and dark circles well and doesn't cling to any dry patches. I apply mine with a brush (as that's what Charlotte Tilbury uses) which works really well, but I've also tried it with a beauty blender, which gives a lighter coverage.

There are lots of different shades, and when you order online they send you 3 samples to ensure you have the right shade before you open the bottle, which I think is a great idea. Pale foundations are really difficult to find, but shades 1 and 2 of this foundation are probably the best I've found for pale skin.

This foundation lasts all day and I very rarely need to touch it up. I set mine with the powder, which is a beautiful finely milled setting powder that mattifies without adding dullness. Sometimes I need to touch up my powder after a few hours, but this is normal for me with any foundation or powder, and I find that this lasts a lot longer than any of my other foundations.

If you have any skin problems, this foundation is great for coverage and is long-wearing. What I really like about this foundation is the fact that it looks so natural whilst still giving good coverage. It's quite expensive, as with all Charlotte Tilbury products, but I'd say it's definitely worth the money.

If you haven't tried the magic foundation yet, I'd highly recommend getting a sample or trying it at one of the Charlotte Tilbury counters. If you're unsure of what shade to buy and you can't get to a counter, I'd recommend ordering from the Charlotte Tilbury website, then you can get the samples and try them at home before opening the foundation.

Have any of you tried this foundation?

Awful weather.

I'm so sick of this awful weather! It rained ALL weekend, so apologies for the indoor photos with bad lighting! I used all my studio lights but because it's so dark outside they're still dark! Anyway, this was just a casual outfit for running errands, I'm wearing my new favourite UNIF caleb sweater, and my Topshop coat from last year as it's super warm and it's too windy for an umbrella! (I've linked a similar one above - this years version).

Emerald.

H&M Top
This outfit is a casual one, I'm loving these Atelje trainers as they easily add colour and interest to my outfits. I'm also wearing this Navy gilet from Jack Wills, which is perfect for slightly warmer wintery days, with a basic striped top and jeans.
