Weekly Roundup #9 & Primark Haul

I haven't done one of these posts in weeks, but I thought I'd do one of this week & last week's events and happenings!

Florence + The Machine
I went to see Florence live at the Manchester Arena last week, FATM are currently on their How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful tour and it was absolutely amazing. I don't mention music much on here, so if you didn't know, Florence + The Machine are my absolute favourites and if I had a bucket list  seeing them live would have been on it. I'd really recommend seeing them live if you're a big fan like me, it was probably the best thing I've ever been to! I was literally so sad when it was over! I did buy something from the merchandise too, which I'll show in a haul video going up tomorrow!

Hair
I'm blonde again! Last Saturday I was feeling pretty bored, and my hair needed washing and toning, and I've been thinking about re-dying it for a while now as it was looking very orangey. Everyone keeps telling me that my hair is better blonde, and somehow I didn't feel 'myself' with darker hair so I decided to go back blonde! I did it myself at home instead of going to the salon, as it's a lot cheaper, and I find colouring and highlighting hair pretty easy (If you've not done it a lot though, I'd recommend going to a salon!). I'm going to film a video about the products I used and the different stages and things, so if you're interested, keep an eye out for that video.

Other News
There aren't any other 'exciting' things to report, but my new job is going very well and I'm managing so far to keep up with my blog and youtube schedule, which I'm pleased about.

If you haven't seen it, here is my latest video - It's another Primark haul! (obviously filmed before I dyed my hair back blonde!)

I hope you've all had a great week, and for those of you starting/going back to school, college, uni, or work, I hope it's going well for you! :)

Weekly Roundup #8

Well this week has been the last week of my Summer and I honestly don't know where it's gone! I saw Paper Towns on Wednesday with my cousins and really enjoyed it. I was curious to see what Cara Delevingne was like as an actress and she was great. The film itself was good too, a strange storyline but one that was really interesting - a good escapism film and I'd definitely recommend going to see it!

I've also watched two films on Netflix this week (how exciting is my life?!): The Oranges and Love, Rosie. Both were really good and I'd recommend either. The Oranges was more of an unusual film (with a bit of a Christmas bit in the middle) and Love, Rosie was an emotional romantic film. I was feeling weirdly christmassy after watching the Oranges, so I used up a Christmas bath bomb and lit a Christmas candle (although I didn't share on Instagram as Christmas in August isn't really a thing...)

In other news, I've re-done my gel nails using a new shade called 'Love those Baby blues' which is a gorgeous blue shade. The selfie was taken when I was filming Sunday's August favourites video because you just gotta make use of good lighting!

I'm also starting my new job (officially) this week (I'm a teacher) which is a new thing for me and I should be able to stick to my usual schedule, but please forgive me if replying to comments and things takes a little longer. I'm also not sure whether I'll continue these weekly posts as I don't know if I'll actually be doing anything worth blogging about! So I may just do them as and when and post another outfit/beauty post if not.

I hope you've all had a great summer, and good luck to all of you going back to school/college/uni/work! x

Weekly Roundup #7

Well this week has been busy!

London
I went to London for the day on Monday. It was a very early start (5.30am) and I got back just after 1am! I was absolutely shattered, but had a great day shopping, meeting up with friends and carrying way too many heavy bags! I really love shopping in London as there's just so much to see and a lot of things I can't get at home! I posted a vlog of my day, and also have a London haul and a London Primark haul coming soon on my Youtube channel!

Friends
I met up with some of my friends this week for coffee, lunch and cakes (although I only remembered to take pictures of one of them!) It was so nice to meet up, especially as I hadn't seen them for a long time!

Graduation photos
My official graduation photos arrived this week too, and I think they turned out really well. I was really happy with it and I'm glad all the contouring paid off- haha!

What's next
This next week is my last week of Summer holidays, which I'm very sad about! It's gone so quickly, and yet I don't seem to have done very much!

I hope you've all had a great week!

Weekly Roundup #6

Firstly, I hope you've all had a great week! Mine has been pretty uneventful, but here's the highlights, thoughts and a roundup of my week!

Beauty
I picked up two of the new Kate Moss for Rimmel Nude lipsticks last week, and honestly haven't worn anything else since! These are amazing, the shades are beautiful (including some on-trend brown tones) and the formula is lovely. They aren't as long lasting as other brands (e.g. MAC) but I really like these! I have shade 42 & 43, but I'll definitely be looking at the others next time I'm in Boots/Superdrug.

Magazine freebies
Grazia this week has a free iced espresso/refresha drink, so of course I got an iced skinny Caramel Macchiato (#sogood). Plus this week's magazine is only £1 so it's a bargain!
ELLE this month also has a 20% off ASOS card, which I can't wait to use - I'm waiting for a few more new season pieces to arrive online first, but of course will do a haul of what I end up buying!

TV
I've watched quite a bit of TV this week, which is unusual for me! I finally watched season 3 of American Horror Story (Coven) and absolutely loved it- definitely my favourite season. I also watched the Louboutin documentary which was fascinating to see the behind the scenes of my favourite shoes! And also, I'm loving Tattoo fixers on E4, no I don't have a tattoo but it's fascinating what some idiots get tattoos of!

What's happening next...
Next week I'm off to London for a full day of shopping which I'm so excited for! I'm also meeting up with friends and enjoying the last 2 weeks of my summer holiday (seriously, where has it gone!!!?)

Weekly Roundup #5 July Favourites

Beauty blender , Primark beauty blender , Primark lip liners , Bb Straight , NARS Sheer Glow

I didn't have enough new favourites for a video, and all I've done this week is basically shopping, exercise and blogging, so I thought I'd do a July favourites post instead!

I've been loving using a blender sponge to blend my base products recently, it's just so easy and leaves such a natural finish. I thought it would be very time consuming, and although it does take a little more time than a brush, it's actually not much different. I just love the finish it gives, and it blends so much better than a brush. The original one is amazing, but Primark's version is pretty good too! It's less than 10% of the price, and does almost the same job. The main difference is that Primark's version is a lot more dense so can soak up a little more product. However, I really like both and alternate them, but if you're wanting to try a blender sponge, I'd recommend having a go with the Primark one first. I clean mine with the Beauty blender solid cleanser after each use. (Tomorrow's video is a GRWM featuring the blender & my current foundation, contour and highlight routine).

I've also been loving Primark's lip liners recently. They're amazing and only £1!!

I'm still loving my NARS sheer glow foundation too, and love the finish of it when applied with the beauty blender. It's also much better with the pump than without!

Lastly, I've been straightening my hair again recently, and this blow dry cream from Bumble&bumble makes it so much easier to get my thick & wavy hair straight and frizz-free. Mine is a travel size, but you only need a very small amount so it will probably last me a lot longer yet!

So there are my July favourites!

Weekly Roundup #4

This week has been a week of shopping, blogging, catching up with friends and relatives and blogging. Nothing overly exciting to be honest, but I do have a new haul video up on my YouTube channel, and tomorrow's video is a lookbook that I spent a lot of time on this week!

I've also re-dyed my hair this week. I noticed that my brown/dark blonde at the top was fading quite a lot and also pulling quite warm, so I decided to re-dye it before it faded completely. It was pretty easy to do, and I used this L'Oreal hair dye in shade 5 (natural brown).

The weather hasn't been great this week - it's so cold!!

Films&TV - I'm completely hooked on 90210 and am currently on season 4 on Netflix. I love that I have time in the holidays to just chill out and watch tv shows in the evenings instead of doing work!!

I'm also obsessed with Missguided at the moment and have been buying a lot of their stuff over the past month. They just have some great pieces at affordable prices and the quality is really good. I was chatting to one of the managers in their Trafford Centre concession and all their designs are their own, and most of their items are made in the UK!

I hope you've all had a great week! Happy August - where did July go!? x

Weekly Roundup #3 PGCE Graduation

Hi everyone! Yesterday was my graduation for my PGCE! I graduated from Edge Hill University with Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Secondary Music with QTS and 120 Level 7 Masters credits! It was a great day of celebrations and for this week's weekly roundup I thought I'd share the photos!
I'm wearing: Whistles dress, Whistles clutch and Louboutin shoes (and of course the graduation outfit!)
Hope you've all had a great week! x

Weekly Roundup #2

This week has been a bit of a roller coaster really, I turned 23 on Monday, got a job on Wednesday (that I applied for on Monday) and I'm feeling much more positive about things, although it hasn't all really sunk in yet.

Birthday
I didn't have the best time being 22 so was a bit anxious about turning 23 (silly isn't it) but honestly it hasn't bothered me. I didn't do anything much - just went shopping to the Trafford centre with my mum and celebrated by eating WAY too much cake! The cupcakes went, and so did the actual cake! (so naughty!!)

Shopping
Speaking of the Trafford Centre, Missguided have a little selection in Selfridges and I picked up some great things. I then made a massive order from their £5 sale, and a HUGE parcel arrived for me on Wednesday. I'll definitely be doing a haul video, although I'm thinking of changing my YT channel a bit, I'm not sure if my videos are getting a bit boring and predictable!? Anyway, I'd highly recommend checking out their sale as there are some A-mazing bargains!

JustFab July
I got two pairs of shoes from JustFab this month, both of which I love and will show you properly in a post next week but for now, theres a sneak peek of the flats I got in the outfit photo above!

Music
After I said last week I was loving Years and Years, I picked up their album for the car and also Everything Everything's new album. They're a little weird but I really like their music, particularly Spring/Sun/Winter/Dread (listen to it- it's great).

New Job
I finally managed to secure myself a job for next year! I've finished my PGCE (a postgrad teaching qualification if you didn't know) with top marks, and have got my first teaching job at a really nice school. I'm so pleased and relieved, and finally feel like I can enjoy my summer now!  As for the summer, I'm not sure what I'm doing yet as I didn't plan anything as I wanted to wait till I knew what I was doing in September!

I hope you've all had a great week! x

Weekly Roundup #1

I'm starting a bit of new feature today, a weekly roundup of things I've done, and things that I want to share, but not necessarily in separate posts. I used to do something similar years ago, but I thought I'd bring it back!

Movies/TV
I watched Ted 2 on Wednesday at the cinema. I was feeling really down so thought it would take my mind off things. I hadn't seen Ted 1 but me and my friend thought it looked good so we went to watch it.  At first I didn't think I'd like it, but I actually really enjoyed it. I'm not usually a comedy fan but it was a really good movie and it definitely took my mind off things! If you've no idea what it's about (like I didn't), it's a teddy bear that comes to life and in this movie he fights for civil rights to be acknowledged as a real person. It sounds boring, but it's really funny and great if you just need to take your mind off things!
I've also been watching 90210 as I've got free time now I've finished my PGCE, although as I said I'm pretty down and don't feel like doing much. If you liked Gossip Girl, you'll probably like 90210, it's basically the LA version without the online blog.

New Hair
I'm really loving my new hair, and I'm glad I've moved away from blonde. It's true that changing your hair can make you feel so much better about things! Hopefully my colour won't fade too quickly and I can stay on the dark side!

Music
Years & Years released their album yesterday - it's so good! I never mention music on here, but this album is great! I first heard them on Radio 1 (I like the breakfast show on my way to work) and have been obsessed with their music ever since. Their live set from Glastonbury (on iPlayer) is also really good. Usually albums are a bit hit and miss, but there's not a song I don't like on this one! Other albums I've been loving are: Florence and the Machine - How Big How Blue How Beautiful (I LOVE Florence) and La Roux - Trouble in Paradise (I've been listening to loads of La Roux since watching her Glastonbury performance).

General
I'm turning 23 on Monday and honestly I don't really feel like it's time for my birthday. Every year I think 'next year will be better' but it never seems to be. I'm just so down at the moment as nothing seems to be going right and I don't really feel like celebrating. I'm going to go shopping though which will hopefully make me feel a bit better and be able to enjoy my birthday a bit!

I hope you've all had a great week! x
